The Kids First Awareness Program is an after school community learning center for at-risk children, providing a structured and safe learning atmosphere where children can receive assistance with home work, computer training, teen programs, drug abuse prevention and character education. Their goals are to help children improve academic performance, gain self-confidence, develop new interests and improve school attendance.

The Kids First Program is also a place where adults are encouraged to have life-improvement opportunities, such as parenting classes. Director Cindy Hawkins says, “We are working to bring about a positive community-wide change.”
